More than 1,200 Hamilton County Schools students experience homelessness or double up with multiple families throughout the school year. Ensuring that unhoused youth have access to stable housing allows them to focus on learning and realizing their bright futures.

Mending Historic Injustice

The current patterns of homelessness can be traced back through our history of housing segregation and racialized wealth inequality, among the many societal burdens felt disproportionately by Black Chattanooga. Ending homelessness is an opportunity for our City to leap towards racial equity and justice for all.
