Domestic abuse is coercive and/or abusive behavior that is used by one person to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner, family member, dating partner, spouse, ex-spouse, or cohabitant. Domestic abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional/psychological, financial, technological, stalking, and/or coercive behavior that is intended to intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, scare, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, and/or wound someone
